And it went pretty well. You wouldn't have known from her animated conversation and comments that she'd said anything remotely like Seal told us. I thought I could compartmentalize; this kid has be beat all to hell. She was all curious to know how E was doing with her walking, she was all excited that we were going to Hawaii, and even more excited that I was going back to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks, and then back to Beijing in August. What I didn't tell her about the Beijing trip (and maybe I should have) is that Elias and Marta are coming with us. We went over to their place for lunch on Monday and had a great time planning everything. Maybe I'll tell her tonight, when she comes over with Carlos to say goodbye (they are leaving first thing tomorrow morning).
I couldn't believe it yesterday. I just sat there and wondered how the hell someone who said such awful things about us could sit across from me and just burble on about the new place that Carlos has rented for them, and how she is transferring to the J Jill over by their new place as assistant manager, FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS - although she wasn't sure if that would come through or not, and would take one or two classes while she was waiting to be classified as a New Jersey resident. On and on and on. Just f'ing incredible. She said that the new place is within 15 minutes of Carlos' mother, about 20 minutes to her parents' place, and about a half hour to her Uncle Tyler's. She said EVERYONE is so EXCITED that she's coming back. She should only know how excited we are to be rid of her.
